I have two bachelor's degrees that I earned from the University of Hawaii. One is in communication and the other is in psychology. I have a master's degree in special education that I earned from ASU, or Arizona State University. I am a special education teacher with a certification to teach up to the twelfth grade. I am also an elementary education teacher with a certification to teach up to the eighth grade. I have been in the educational field for ten years, but have only been teaching for the previous seven years.I have tutored students before and after school and have seen how this pays off for them in the classroom.I love tutoring in all subject matters, but I really enjoy tutoring elementary math, organizational skills, and language arts. My philosophy is that all students are able to learn the material. It is my job to be creative and to find a teaching method that each student can understand. I also believe that students can take ownership in what they are learning when they are actively involved.In my free time, I enjoy yoga, gardening, working out, volleyball, reading, watching movies, and taking knitting and cooking classes. I also love to travel to places such as Puerto Rico, Africa, and Europe.
